Berlin To Celebrate St. Patrick's Day With Their Biggest Parade Ever
If you're Irish and looking for some patriotic things to do next week, or a local who wants to get in on the St. Patrick's Day action, we've got the perfect festivities in Berlin for you..
This Sunday, Berlin's St. Paddy's Day parade will be kicking off at 2pm from Oranienplatz in Kreuzberg (if you wish to take part they'll be gathering from 1pm, so head along a bit earlier). Anyone heading along to watch the parade is encouraged to go decked out in as much green as possible, and celebrate Ireland's national day with the Berlin Pipe Company as well as other special guests.
The route will go from Oranienplatz to Oranienstraße, on to Wiener Straße, up to Ratiborstraße before finishing up at Jockel Biergarten.
Then after the parade there will be a whole load of activities to keep you entertained for the afternoon, and into the evening, there'll be an indoor space, chill-out zones, tented areas and lots of heaters with Irish music, Irish dancing, Irish foods, Gaelic games, and drinks to beat the band.
Then if you're having far too much fun to go home yet, you can head on to the Paddy's Festival after party which will have DJ's with some Irish connections, and tunes to keep the party going til the wee hours.
Cancel all your plans, we've got your Sunday plans sorted! Happy St. Patrick's Day, Berlin!
